These reflections were originally shared with our wellness community in November.
Our Mission: Growth Through Yoga
At Noble, we believe yoga is a practice and a way of life. Guided by the Eight Limbs of Yoga, our philosophy supports balance in body, mind, and spirit—on and off the mat. Whether you join us for heat, quiet, movement, meditation, breathwork, or community, Noble is a place to return to your center.
Ahimsa, the first yama, reminds us to do no harm toward ourselves or toward others.
In January at Noble, we will reflect on Ahimsa as our foundation; it’s the root of meaningful growth. In always considering the impact of our actions, we strive to treat others the way we want to be treated.
Ahimsa asks us to treat ourselves gently: to honor our limitations, to rest when needed, to consume nourishing food, and to move thoughtfully instead of forcefully. When we are kind to ourselves, we cultivate the inner stability necessary to express compassion with conviction.
How we speak to ourselves is the voice we use towards others in our mind and vocally towards those we love and whom trust us most. As internal anxious dialogue softens, so our relationships soften.
Ahimsa is much more than simply avoiding harm—it is choosing kindness, even when my ego disagrees.
When I am honest regarding my limitations, I forge humility and self-respect. It takes courage and vulnerability to admit when our body needs a gentler posture, or when our mind needs a slower breath, or when our homelife balance needs addressing.
When we deny our limits and lose our boundaries, we create internal conflict. When we peacefully honor our limits and gracefully state our boundaries, we create connection.
Thich Nhat Hanh taught that each passing thought is a seed of the mind. The thoughts we cultivate — the ones we tend, nurture, repeat, and believe in — cultivate how we show up in the world.
Watering thoughts of patience, forgiveness, and self-respect, cause those qualities to flow toward our families, colleagues, and communities.
Acknowledging limitations is not weak. It’s wisdom. In practicing wisdom, we create ripples of peace.

Meet the Noble Team
We are proud to introduce the Noble team whom teach and practice from a place of passion and purpose. At Noble, we believe our teachers are healers. Here we highlight our instructors’ stories, styles, and huge hearts.
Teachers like Jessica Anderson, who will guide Kundalini yoga. The kundalini practice combines movement, breathwork, mantra, and meditation to balance the nervous system and ignite inner strength.
With more than 20 years of service as a firefighter and paramedic, Jessica knows firsthand the toll that high-stress, front-line work can take on the body and mind. After being diagnosed with C-PTSD and anxiety, she began searching for a path to healing beyond what the traditional Western model could offer. That search led her to holistic medicine and ultimately to yoga—a practice that became her sanctuary.
Yoga not only restored her physical health but also nurtured her mind, soul, and sense of awareness in transformative ways. Jessica is currently working on her 500 hour training in Kundalini Yoga. She holds a 200-hour foundational yoga certification, and Reiki Master training, sparking a lifelong curiosity about the body’s innate ability to heal—from nervous system regulation to cellular regeneration.
Her roots in dance, cheerleading, and competitive rhythmic gymnastics shaped her early understanding of movement, discipline, and resilience. Later, as captain of the Indianapolis Tornados cheerleading team, Jessica further developed her leadership skills. Jess fosters teamwork through example, in a game situation she initiated on field CPR during a urgent cardiac arrest, and saved the coach’s life.
Jessica brings a compassionate and holistic approach to teaching, with focus areas that include: pediatric yoga, supporting police, military, and fire service populations. Trauma, PTSD, and C-PTSD recovery Oncology and hospice care Naturopathic and integrative healing practices. Her mission is to bridge ancient wisdom with modern science, helping others discover alternative pathways to healing while providing education on the profound physiological effects of these practices. Jessica believes yoga is not just movement—it’s medicine, empowerment, and a reminder that the body has an incredible capacity to heal itself with the right tools and support.

Guest Tip: Nutrition Made Simple
The way you nourish your body on the mat matters—and so does the way you nourish it off the mat. Just like yoga supports strength, balance, and calm, the food you choose plays a key role in your self-care.
A great place to start is with real food first. Choose foods with ingredients you can recognize, and don’t be afraid to read the label—what’s inside truly matters. As you look, ask yourself:
✨ Can I pronounce the ingredients?
✨ Could I buy these ingredients at my local grocery store and make this myself?
If you can answer yes, you’re on the right track. Then, take a quick peek for added or hidden sugars— they sneak into more foods than you might think!
From there, keep it simple: build your plate with protein, colorful veggies or fruit, and a healthy fat.
This easy formula helps steady your energy, supports recovery, and keeps nourishing your body simple and sustainable.
If food or nutrition ever start to feel overwhelming, or you’d like to better understand how to nourish you unique body, know that I’m here to guide you—you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Here’s to caring for our bodies—through yoga, through food, and through community.

Tip of the Month: Start Where You Are
Yoga invites us to begin where we are today—even when the ground feels uneven. Growth rarely happens in straight lines. It loops, opens, softens, challenges, and teaches.
As Noble begins planting seeds for our new community, consider:
- Where can I soften into a new perspective?
- What am I resisting that might hold a lesson?
- How can I care for myself with the same depth I offer others?
Every breath is ripe for a new beginning.
This reflection is part of the ongoing journal of Noble Hot Yoga and Wellness—where movement, breath, and mindful living come together. Breathe. Believe. Achieve.
